We hold the payment before you start.

Payment is released automatically 7 days after you submit.
If there is a dispute and the two sides cannot agree within 7 days, we decide what happens to the held payment. It costs you nothing.

We take the payment from the client before work starts, and release it to the worker after completion is confirmed. We receive payment on the worker's behalf (Terms, section 5). Once the client has paid us, the client's obligation to pay the worker is discharged. We are responsible for the money until it reaches the worker.

1How the money moves

#StageWhat happens
1RequestClient and worker agree the work, the pay and the payment date, and sign
2Held (escrow)Before work starts, the client pays us. The worker sees on their page that it is held
3WorkThe worker does the work
4ReviewThe client checks the submission. It is approved automatically 7 days after you submit
5PaymentThe amount less our fee goes to the worker. When the worker requests a withdrawal on My page, requests up to the 15th are paid at the end of the month, and requests up to the end of the month are paid on the 15th of the next month

Trial tasks work the same way. A paid trial task a client asks for before the main contract is held, done, checked and paid in the same order, with the same automatic approval and the same fee. The client sets the fee (at least ¥2,000, no upper limit); the trial is optional.
